Villecroze

Villecroze is situated at about 60 km north of St. Tropez and 20 km south of the Lake de Sainte Croix and the Gorges / Grand Canyon de Verdon. Our property is at the border of the 'Parc Naturel Régional du Verdon'. Villecroze is a picturesque provencale village and gives, protected against the Mistral, many opportunities for marvellous hikes and promenades in the surroundings as well as in the well cultivated park with various trees, the rose gardens, waterfalls and cool caves, fortified during the XVI° century. Many fontaines regaling its visitors together with beautiful local pottery and ceramics.

Each thursday morning, under the shelter of the plane trees, the farmers offer their delicious and varied selection of fruit, vegetables, the well-known olive-oil, lavander honey and their local wine. Five different restaurants, bars, a bakery and a little grocery store are located in Villecroze. Further shops (2 supermarkets), banks, pharmacies and restaurants are located in Salernes, 5 km away.

Les Suis

Our home (see picture on the index page) in the quarter 'Les Suis' is about 1,5 km from the center of the village Villecroze. The property is located at the edge of a forest, surrounded by the pasture of our horses. We are fortunate to live in a very quiet area, apart from stress and trafic.

On your hiking tours in the wood just opposite of our house, you will find wild thyme and rosemary, the typical herbs of Provence. These spices enhance the taste of the regional cuisine.
